Finn McCool's Fingers, 2002

24" x 30" Acrylic on Canvas

Co. Cavan, Ireland

Moss and lichen were natural graffiti on the five standing stones, known locally as Finn McCool's Fingers. On a hilltop near Cavan town, it served as the site of the investiture of the O'Reilly chieftains. On the brink of a downpour, the sky was purple and weird, and added a sense of magic to the place.
